Notes:
1 California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (DADP) regulations mandating certification of counselors who work in DADP certified or licensed programs went into effect 4/1/05. “Grandfathering” (or “grandparenting”), which is allowed in the regulations to prevent “workplace shortages”, was discontinued by CADDTP on 10/1/04.
2 Above-noted regulations mandated registration of those not certified with any one of nine recognized certifying organizations. Registrants have five years to become certified.
3 Regulations require renewal every two years. |
